October 5, 2010 -- Mrs Elsia Grandcourt has been appointed to the recently created post of Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles Tourism
Board (STB).
Announcing the appointment, President James Michel who holds the tourism portfolio, said that ensuring qualified women hold key positions in Seychelles is in line with the country's new Millennium Development Goals Plus targets, one of which is to have greater gender equality at the top levels of government.  The President said he is confident Mrs Grandcourt is well qualified to carry out the duties of her new office.
Mrs Grandcourt completed her Advanced Level Studies at the Seychelles Polytechnic in
1993. She obtained the Higher Diploma in Hotel Management from the Singapore
Hotel Association Training & Educational Centre (SHATEC) in 1996, and consolidated
her experience in the hotel industry before joining Air Seychelles in 1998.
Mrs Grandcourt held management positions in the tourism and travel services industry. Until her new appointment she was serving in the post of Marketing Manager at Creole Travel Services.
She is married and has two children.
Mr Alain St Ange is the CEO of STB. The chairman of STB is Mr Barry Faure, the Secretary of State in the Office of the President.
