Christmas is here again and we see much is transformed around us. The town is decorated, the songs over the radio and television have changed, our homes are decorated and we are thinking of a gift for those close to us. But of course the reflection that we need to make is what kind of transformation is going on within our hearts.
Christmas is a time for Christians to celebrate a religious festival where we give thanks for Jesus, our Saviour. He came into the world to give us his love, his peace and to save us from sin and all that is evil. Therefore, it is also important that as we seek this transformation, everything begins with thanks to Almighty God who thinks of us, His children, watches over us and accompanies us each and every day of our lives.
Despite all the challenges and sadness that we face, and I have no doubt that many people are experiencing sadness for different reasons, let us keep our faith in the living God to hold fast on to His hand and let Him guide us through all darkness, because after all, He is the light, and all the darkness of this world has been unable to destroy that light.
Celebrate God in our lives. His incarnation is in our hearts, so let us go out of Bethlehem and let God take control of our lives and guide us in the right direction.
This is the principle of all faiths across the world. Let us, as a people, be guided by God so that when we see all this light shining around us, we will take life more seriously and accept that light as the new way of living in community. But also to share our light with others so that we all stand in solidarity and move forward really closely together as a nation dedicated to letting good triumph over evil, light overcoming darkness and positivity conquering negativity.
For this Christmas, I have special wishes for all who are in suffering and difficulty, experiencing bereavement, sickness, pain, separation and other calamities. I wish you courage and strength, but above all, blessings and the light of God in your hearts.
Have a blessed Christmas 2024.
