Call for Applications: Position of Mayor of Victoria

The Office of the President invites interested and suitably qualified citizens to apply for the position of Mayor of Victoria.

The Mayor of Victoria plays a central role in leading and representing the capital, coordinating district-level collaboration, promoting the cultural and economic vitality of Victoria, and advancing initiatives that enhance the wellbeing of residents and the national image of our city.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must:

  1.        Be a Seychellois citizen of good standing;
  2.        Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and community engagement skills;
  3.        Possess experience in public service, administration, community development, or related fields;
  4.        Be able to work collaboratively with local authorities, civil society, and national stakeholders;
  5.        Uphold the highest standards of integrity and public accountability.

Application Process:

Interested individuals are invited to submit:

  1.        A letter of application outlining their motivation and vision for Victoria.
  2.        A curriculum vitae with relevant experience.
  3.        Two references attesting to the applicant’s character and professional conduct.

Applications should be submitted to the Cabinet Office, State House, by 16th January 2026 after which all nominations received will be transmitted to the Members of the National Assembly representing the districts surrounding Victoria. They will undertake a review and selection process, including discussions and interviews, and will recommend one candidate to the President for appointment.
