President Danny Faure paid a special visit this morning to four key essential service providers, in show of his support and appreciation for the work they are doing.
Whilst continuing to strictly observe physical distancing guidelines from the Health Authorities, the President visited the headquarters of STC, SEYPEC, PUC and SPTC this morning.
The President first visited the Seychelles Trading Company (STC) Headquarters at Latanier Road in Victoria. He was welcomed by the Chairperson of the STC Board, Mr Guy Morel, and the Chief Executive Officer, Ms Christine Joubert. Addressing the STC Senior Management team, the President expressed his sincere appreciation to all STC staff for their remarkable efforts in ensuring food security and maintaining a supply of essential goods during this time of crisis. The President urged STC staff to continue working in collaboration with key partners.
President Faure also visited SEYPEC House at New Port, where he was welcomed by the Chief Executive Officer of Seychelles Petroleum Company (SEYPEC), Mr Conrad Benoiton. The President thanked all SEYPEC employees for their hard work in ensuring energy supply for Seychelles. The SEYPEC management team provided an overview of their current stock position and projected outlook for the months ahead.
At the Public Utilities Corporation (PUC) Head Quarters at Bois de Rose, the President was greeted by the Chairperson of PUC, Mr Eddy Belle, and the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Philippe Morin. President Faure expressed his gratitude toward all PUC employees who continue to work through the coronavirus outbreak and deliver service to citizens. The PUC Senior Management team briefed the President on their mode of operation at present, and the strategies in place to ensure minimal disruption to their services.
The President also met with the Senior Management Team of the Seychelles Public Transport Corporation (SPTC) at their Head Office on Latanier Road. He was welcomed by the Chairperson of the SPTC Board, Mr Andy Moncherry, and the Chief Executive Officer of SPTC, Mr Patrick Vel. As the sole provider of public transportation, the President thanked the management and staff of SPTC for continuing to offer their services whilst doing their utmost to implement public health measures. He commended SPTC for working hard to ensure the safety of its passengers and deliver an essential service to the community.
On each visit, the President reiterated his appreciation to the management and staff for working hard to continue providing the country with reliable service through this time of crisis.
